Planning and Policy
Livable Berkeley participates in the full range of City and regional planning efforts. It educates the public about Berkeley city plans and policies, sends representatives to public planning meetings, and seeks to have representatives appointed to plan task forces and steering committees. Livable Berkeley also tracks legislation related to smart growth, infill, transit and sustainable development, at the local, regional, state and federal levels.
RECENT WORK: In January and February of 2006 the Policy Committee reviewed a proposed Berkeley Transit Services Fee, and made recommendations to the City Council. You can READ THE BACKGROUND prepared by the committee chair, and READ THE RECOMMENDATIONS made to the City Council as PDF files.
